Stainless Steel Chain - Garlan Chain

Did you know that Garlan Chain manufactures a full line of stainless steel chain?

We get a lot of questions about stainless steel, such as- what's the difference between steel and stainless steel, what are the benefits and who usually buys it? We have interviewed Dave Gariepy, the owner of Garlan Chain and asked these questions...

Q: What's the difference between "regular steel" and "stainless steel"? A: Aside from them being different metallic alloys, the main difference that applies to chain used for jewelry is stainless steel is non-corrosive, meaning it doesn't rust, stain or corrode easily. It's also hypo allergenic and you can use it without a protective finish.

Q: What are the benefits of choosing stainless steel? A: If you need durability and a silver color, this is an excellent choice. In fact, the more you wear it, the better it's self polishing jewelry. Also, since it's not necessary to plate the metal, it's a great option if you wear it in the shower, swimming or the ocean - it's hard to destroy!

Q: Who uses stainless steel chain? A: In the fashion and jewelry sector, our biggest customers use it for men's jewelry, religious fashion wear, athletic wear and medical jewelry. Basically, jewelry you intend to wear a lot!

Q: What are the most popular styles? A: Curb, cable, double curb & rope.

Q: How much does it cost? A: It's a non-precious metal, so it's really inexpensive. It's about a tenth of the cost of sterling silver.

Q: Is there anything else you think is important for our customers to know about stainless steel chain from Garlan Chain? A: We also manufacture stainless steel jump rings and have stainless findings with the ability to assemble into finished necklaces or bracelets.Check out our website for our complete line of chains here...
